Analysis and Design of Piled Raft Foundation Taking into Account Interaction Factors

چکیده

In a combined piled raft foundation (CPRF) both and piles take their share of the total load applied. However, in practice, contribution taking is usually ignored assumed to be supported on piles. This way CPRF becomes excessively conservative uneconomical. To economize design, relative sharing has found. this connection, different simplified methods have been developed, each one with some limitations. study, three applied two cases pile-raft systems. Furthermore, it shown that system can used as “stress reducers” well “settlement reducers.” Additionally, effect interaction factors evaluated s/d ratio varying soil stiffness. It was concluded ignoring these leads unsafe design system.

Geotechnical Interaction of Piled Raft Foundations: Two Case Studies

Application of pile-raft foundations, which are known as “compound foundations”, is a suitable alternative in the case of heavy load structures. The interaction behavior of pile raft foundations makes these systems very complex to analyze. Different methods have been proposed to determine the bearing capacity of piled raft systems and distribution of loads between the components, i.e. pile grou...

Experimental Study of a Square Foundation with Connected and Non-Connected Piled Raft Foundation Under Eccentrically Loaded

In the recent years, non-connected piled raft foundation has been considered as an economical and practical deep foundation in the situation that high shear and concentrated loads may occur at the connection of the raft and pile head. This paper was presented an experimental study of a square foundation on the effects of parameters such as S/D, L/D and etc. in two cases of connected or non-conn...

Behavior of Piled Raft Foundation on Heterogeneous Clay Deposits Using Random Field Theory

In the case of problematic soils and tall buildings where the design requirements cannot be satisfied merely by a raft foundation, it is of common practice to improve the raft performance by adding a number of piles so that the ultimate load capacity and settlement behavior can be enhanced. In this study, the effect of spatial variability of soil parameters on the bearing capacity of piled raft...

Composite piled raft foundation with intermediate cushion in layered soil under seismic forces

In order to mobilize shallow soil to participate in the interaction of piled raft foundation sufficiently, the concept of piled raft has been modified to new type of foundation named composite piled raft. In the system of composite piled raft, the short piles made of flexible materials is used to strengthen the shallow soft soil, while the long piles made of relatively rigid materials is used t...
